Hair type matters

Hair that is curly, thick can go without a wash than hair that is fine. The reason is that the oil in your scalp doesn’t travel down to hair shafts as fast in curly hair as in fine hair. So, curly hair don’t need much of a conditioning as compared to fine hair types.

Curly hair types should be careful to not wash their hair too regularly or use harsh sulfates on their hair because it deprives them of the natural oil their hair produces. Consider using a conditioner or a sulfate free shampoo if washing twice a week is needed.

There can be too much of shampooing

Too much shampooing can deprive our hair of the natural oils and proteins, which once gone, give it a very frazzled look. This shouldn’t be done. Too much of shampooing will cause more harm to hair. It is better you let hair oil accumulate. That will give a better look to your hair.

The final verdict

At most, try washing your hair every other day. Every two day is also a good alternative. If your hair gets oily after a day, try using some hair powder that soaks up the excess oil. If you need to wash your hair daily, use a shampoo made for daily wash. It is less harsh on your hair. If you can go without washing even for a week and keep it fine, let it be so.
